Hi guys, I did an short analysis this weekend on how the wealth is distributed in the Ark delegate ecosystem. The results can be found here.
Of all the wallets which have cast a vote, approximately 65% hold at least 1 Ark. I then went on to split those wallets into 5 tiers depending on their balance, Tier 5 having the wealthiest 1%.
Wallet balance Ark % voting wallets within range 1-100 33.2 100-1k 43.5 1k-10k 18.2 10k-100k 4.1 100k+ 1
About 77% of all voting wallets have a balance of less than 1000 Ark.
Which delegates does each tier vote for?
Tiers 1 through 3 are primarily dominated by biz_classic and jarunik. However they are noticeably absent from the top 10 in tiers 4 and 5. And dutchdelegate is present with at least 10% share on all but the tier 5.
Of the 51 forging delegates 13 are owned more or less by an individual wallet holder providing at least 50% of the voting power. None of these delegates were in the top ten delegates.
On the opposite end of the spectrum we have the most 'decentralized' delegates, for which no wallet holds more than 10% of the voting power of a delegate. The top ones in this category are biz_classic, dutchdelegate, and jarunik. Not only do they have the lowest 'ownership' by a single wallet but they also have the most wallet votes.
