There's a common misconception that SPF is a Spectrum Dex utility token. However, it's actually Spectrum Network's native currency. We want to draw a clear line between the blockchain and the dex on Cardano to focus on the two brands separately.

SPF was and remains the cornerstone of the Spectrum Network, securing its consensus and playing a pivotal role in its PoS mechanism. Its fair distribution across Ergo and Cardano is a testament to its foundational significance in the future interconnected blockchain ecosystem.

Why is separation important for moving forward?

The two projects have different goals, users and value propositions. We have decided to make a clear line:

• Keep Spectrum brand for Spectrum Network - the blockchain
• Spinoff Spectrum DEX into its own entity - Splash Protocol
