Pretty much out of my leage trying to mine in ubuntu.
I’m trying to put an old pc to work mining zoin but it was so messed up i had to format it. Since i didn’t want to spend in an OS i made a bootable Ubuntu USB.
Now i have my ubuntu up and running and i installed the packages for the dependancies listed in the cpu.miner-opt release_notes. Then i opened build.sh and am at a loss of what is the guide is asking me to do next.
Can someone dumb this shit down a little? I need a few simple instructions like type this there or something.
I have been mining ZOIN for a few months, and since it’s CPU-only, i decided to put my GPU to good use by mining monero too.
The monero miner runs optimally if large memory pages are enabled. You can’t do it in win 10 home edition, but i downloaded a program and could do it in the CMD. I ended up not using CPU-mining for monero and left my CPU only for ZOIN. But this was after i had already enabled the allocation of large memory pages.
Well, it turns out my ZOIN mining hash rate has doubled since i enabled the use of large pages!
Do you think it has something to do? Or could it be a coincidence thanks to changes in the network or something? Does anyone have more knowlege about this? Can i teak it even more?
