Dock (DOCK) is an ERC-20 compliant Ethereum based token and is used on Dock protocol which is a decentralized data exchange protocol. The token is also used for payments, incentivization, and governance of Dock platform. The aim of Dock protocol is to give the ownership of the data to the users using blockchain technology. Dock enables the user to control their information, where it is shared, check if other online accounts are safe and uncover all places where the user information is available.Show more [+] Dock provides a login to instantly port information from any app in the Dock network. The data ported to Dock network will be secured and only available to the external parties with the consent of the user. The users will not be incentivized for sharing their data rather applications will be incentivized to share their data with users and other applications. The Dock platform solves the problem of user data not available to the new applications. Thus a few players are controlling and selling the data for their profits. Dock uses InterPlanetary Linked Data (IPLD) to perform content addressable data exchange. The Dock platform also takes the snapshots of the data and encrypt it to the blockchain.
