AdToken is an ERC-20 token used in the AdChain Registry dApp. AdChain is a collection of interoperable Ethereum-based protocols. AdChain registry was developed to offer a solution to frauds that target online advertising, such as bot traffic and spoofed domains. The registry works like a whitelist of legitimate publisher websites. The registry is curated by the ADT used by the stakeholders. Websites can place an application to be whitelisted by depositing a given fee. They can be "challenged" by anyone that claims it's involved with fraudulent advertising activity. The challenger needs to deposit more adTokens than the applicant did to initiate a challenge, kicking off a voting stage. At this stage, anyone can vote and 1 vote = 1 adToken. At the end of the voting stage, if the majority of the votes support the applicant, it remains whitelisted and receives a part of the challenger's deposit. In case the opposite happens, the challenger receives the reward. Curators that voted on the winning side also receive rewards.
