Civic (CVC) is an Ethereum based ERC-20 compliant token that is used for paying transaction fees, incentivizing network participants and paying service providers. Civic provides a Secure Identity Platform (SIP), where the user can set up their digital identities on the mobile devices. Initially, the identity of the user is verified. On completion of the verification, attestations are written by Civic to the blockchain. The user can set up a QR code or biometric for sharing the data. The use cases of Civic are blockchain notary services, peer to peer identity services, access to individual credit reports etc.
Civic was founded by Vinny Lingham (CEO) and Jonathan Smith (CTO). Lingham is a serial entrepreneur who also founded the digital gift card platform. J.Smith has 15 years of experience in banking and technology advisory. The team consists of 10 management level personals.
