Vitae Token is a PIVx fork, thus carrying the same underlying technology offering privacy and instantly verified transactions. The Vitae token uses the Blackcoin PoS 2.0 protocol and Bitcoin core 0.10.x code base. The total supply of Vitae token coins will be 100 million. The block time is 45 seconds and 8 confirmations are required for the validation of each transaction. The Vitae coin was founded by Michael Weber who is an expert in Web design and development. He is also a social reward director. The team consists of four other members at the moment.

The Vitae network is based on master nodes and supernodes. Both are running on the same wallet software on a native blockchain to provide services such as coin mixing for increased privacy, decentralized governance, and instant transactions. Master nodes are incentivized for providing these services. Supernodes allow the Vitae tokens to be used at point of sale services and e-commerce solutions. There can be unlimited master nodes but supernodes will not exceed the pre-allocated quota.
