What is Liquity?
Liquity (LQTY) is a decentralized borrowing protocol built on Ethereum. It allows users to obtain interest-free loans in the stablecoin LUSD by depositing Ether as collateral. The protocol is designed to be immutable, meaning no governance can change the core contract parameters after deployment, offering predictable and transparent borrowing. LQTY is the protocol's native token.
How does Liquity work?
Liquity uses smart contracts to lock Ether collateral from borrowers, who then mint LUSD against it. A stability pool and active liquidations keep the system collateralized. Borrowers pay a one-time fee instead of ongoing interest. LQTY holders can stake to earn fees and governance rights, while stability providers receive LQTY rewards for taking on liquidation risk.
