Theta Token is an Ethereum ERC-20 token, but soon to be autonomous public blockchain platform for video delivery. The Theta Token blockchain uses a peer-to-peer decentralized CDN, that distributes required computer power between nodes, providing high quality, smooth video streaming. Also decentralized CDN translates to reduced cost. On the other hand, viewers can earn rewards in Theta tokens for sharing bandwidth and computer resources.
At the moment only Ethereum Theta tokens are on the market. But for Q4 2018 the Theta team plans to exchange Theta ERC-20 tokens for Theta blockchain tokens. And in 2019 Theta network goes live with premium on-demand content.
