Zipper (Zip) is the native coin of Zipper main-chain and is used for paying transaction fees. The total supply of Zipper coin is 100 billion. The consensus mechanism used by Zipper blockchain is Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS). Zipper provides a solution for handling a large number of cryptocurrencies by enabling cross chain message communication and transaction switching. Zipper network relies on different nodes for transactions, security, and voting. The Zipper network acts also as a bridge between distributed ledgers of blockchains and ledger of financial institutions. It connects cryptocurrencies to banks for automated transactions. Zipper mainnet contains multiple Z0 blockchains, zipper ecology participants and zipper wallet nodes. Zipper can complete the cross-chain transaction between different Z0 blockchains. The possible use cases for Zipper are lower cost international clearance and settlements, fast transaction processing and value from liquidity management.

Zipper team consists of Zipper participants and community members. There are eight community members on Zipper including John Bell, Zhan Jian, and Chris Ryan.

The nodes are incentivized for keeping the ZIP coins. Zipper main chain bookkeeping (holding) awards are of two types i.e. fee awards and new block generation award (issuance award).
