Shift is an open source blockchain application platform. Their focus is on ease of use for dApp development in the environment. It is a fork from Lisk.
It is a multi-layered blockchain platform, with each dApp having its own sidechain. dApps can be written in JavaScript and have access to the "InterPlanetary File System" to store data, Shift's own IPFS cluster and hypermedia peer-to-peer distribution protocol. It also allows users to transfer files free of charge to anyone connected to the cluster.
It uses delegated proof-of-stake as the consensus protocol.
