What is Reef (REEF)?
Reef is a blockchain project launched in 2020 that operates its own EVM-compatible chain built with Substrate, the framework behind Polkadot. REEF is the network's native asset, used to pay transaction fees and to participate in staking. The project began with a focus on DeFi access before shifting to running the chain itself.
What does EVM compatibility give Reef?
An EVM-compatible chain runs the same bytecode as Ethereum, so Solidity contracts and familiar developer tooling can be redeployed with little modification.
