Bitcoin Price Analysis, 11 September 2026: Thin Turnover Behind the 30-Day Surge
Data as of 11 September 2026. Figures are the market snapshot at publication; see the Bitcoin price page for live numbers.
Turnover Tells the Story of This Move
Bitcoin is quoted at $76,749.43, down 1.99% over the past 24 hours and 5.18% over seven days, while the 30-day change remains a gain of 20.43%. The 24-hour volume of $29.93 billion against a market cap of $1.54 trillion produces a turnover ratio of roughly 0.019, meaning about 1.9% of the network's value changed hands in the last day. That is the single most informative number in today's snapshot, because it frames how much participation is actually behind the monthly advance.
Turnover is a participation gauge, not a direction gauge. A low ratio during a pullback can mean holders are not rushing for the exits; the same low ratio during an advance can mean the move is being carried by a narrow set of buyers rather than broad, high-conviction demand. The current combination - a 20.43% monthly gain alongside a 1.9% daily turnover - sits closer to the second interpretation. Price has travelled a long way over 30 days on relatively modest daily flow.
What the Ratio Implies About Conviction
When turnover is thin, the marginal trade has an outsized effect on price. That cuts both ways. The 30-day gain of 20.43% was achieved without the kind of volume expansion that typically accompanies a broad-based re-rating, which suggests the move is more about the absence of sellers than an aggressive influx of new capital. It also means the current 1.99% daily decline and the 5.18% weekly decline are occurring on the same thin flow - moves that look decisive in percentage terms can reverse just as quickly when liquidity is shallow.
Context matters for interpreting a 1.9% turnover figure. Bitcoin's market cap is large enough that a $29.93 billion daily notional is a modest share of the total, and the turnover ratio sits well below what would be expected during a high-activity phase. For a market to sustain a 20% monthly advance, the more durable pattern is rising turnover as price rises, confirming that new participants are entering rather than existing holders simply refusing to sell. Today's data does not show that confirmation.
Relative Volume Across the Top of the Market
Comparisons within the top ten reinforce the point that this is not a uniform liquidity environment. Ethereum, at a $298.07 billion market cap, is down 1.26% over 24 hours - a shallower decline than Bitcoin's 1.99%. XRP, with an $84.34 billion market cap, is down 3.58%, and Solana at $58.22 billion is down 2.53%. The dispersion suggests idiosyncratic flow rather than a single market-wide liquidation event.
The extremes are more striking. Zcash is down 14.12% on the day and Hyperliquid is down 6.42%, while TRON is essentially flat at 0.04%. When the largest asset in the market is down only 1.99% and smaller names are moving several times that, capital is not exiting the asset class wholesale - it is rotating or de-risking within it. Bitcoin's relatively contained decline, on low turnover, is consistent with a market where the largest pool of liquidity absorbs the least damage.
Levels Visible in the Data
The all-time high of $126,080.00, set on 6 October 2025, leaves the current price 39.1% below that peak. That distance defines the recovery still outstanding, and it frames why the 30-day gain of 20.43% has not yet changed the broader structure. For turnover to rise meaningfully, the market would need either a decisive break in one direction or a return of the volatility that forces position changes. Neither is visible in today's numbers.
What is visible is a market that has advanced over a month on light daily participation, is now giving back a small portion of that advance, and is doing so without the volume signature of panic. That is a neutral-to-constructive liquidity read, but it is not a conviction read. Thin turnover flatters both rallies and declines.
