I had been wondering for like a year whether this tea was actually vegan – it says vegan right on the box, but it contained "organic honey flavor," with no real indication as to what that meant. I wrote the company, and this is what they said:

Thank you for contacting Yogi! We appreciate you reaching out regarding our Honey Lavender Stress Relief tea and are happy to confirm that all our current teas are vegan. The Organic Honey Flavor used in some of our teas is not derived from actual honey. Rather, it currently comes from natural plant sources that have a honey flavor profile.

However, please note that we are in the process of reformulating the following three teas to include real honey: Honey Lavender Stress Relief, Honey Lemon Throat Comfort, and Honey Chai Turmeric Vitality. Given this upcoming change, these three Yogi tea varieties will no longer be vegan. We expect the new versions of these teas to start reaching store shelves by early 2024. You will be able to identify which version you have by looking at the Supplement Facts panel ‘Other Ingredients’ section to see if ‘Honey Powder’ is listed. In addition, the new versions of these teas will no longer have the Vegan symbol printed on their cartons.

So, we could have been drinking it for years, but beginning in 2024, they plan to reformulate and add real honey. So I guess that's at least one customer gained and then lost again!

Why is everyone obsessed with adding honey lately? Ugh. Feel free to write them and complain for me.

The honey badger is a small, fierce mammal that is known for its fearless and aggressive nature. It's not afraid to take on much larger animals, such as lions and crocodiles and even eats snakes. In general, this animal doesn't give 2 $#&%!

So..., this fearless attitude made the honey badger a popular symbol for bitcoin, which is also a new and disruptive technology that is not afraid to challenge the status quo. In addition, the honey badger is also known for its intelligence and adaptability which are also shared by Bitcoin - a decentralized currency that is not controlled by any government or financial institution and was designed to be censorship-resistant and to protect the privacy of its users.

What then?

It all began with a video that went viral in 2011 due to its hilarious commentary, showing a footage of a Honey Badger doing it's thang (original video was taken from NatGeo Special).

A year later, Roger Ver, who was the owner of a computer store Memorydealers and one of the early adopters of Bitcoin, began to accept Bitcoin as payment. This was advertised via a billboard that shows an image of a honey badger as well as the word "Bitcoin".

Subsequently, the honey badger became a very prominent symbol in the cryptocurrency world which can be seen in the prevalence of the animal in various Bitcoin-related memes, names and events and even embraced by the Bitcoin community.

We should have a society like the Freemasons or “Elks” where local chapters could put a positive face to bitcoin and bitcoiners by becoming local stewards and advancing responsible bitcoin adoption in our local areas (ie self custody, no shitcoins, etc...). I got a text to image ai to mock up a logo and I also mocked up some bylaws. If anyone’s interested let me know!

I was thinking the motto would be “Vires in Numeris.”

And of course of all the comments are talking about how "difficult it must have been" for him to murder (not euthanise) all these animals.

I’m hoping this post is appropriate for this sub.

I’ve been vegan for about 3 years now and I’ve been strict with it where I possibly can. I’ve learnt a lot since being vegan and feel great for it. Im amazed by how much it’s opened my eyes to the animal exploitation and how ignorant I was before. I originally was vegan for the planet but now I’m definitely more in it for the animals.

The reason I’m posting is because I recently saw a thread about honey on a non vegan sub and it got me thinking about honey within veganism. Now I fully appreciate that honey is still an exploitation of the honey bee, but I don’t think I know enough about the effects on the bees to make an informed decision on whether or not to add honey back into my diet. At the moment I’m only not eating honey because it’s the more standard practise as a vegan and I would like to come to my own conclusion either way.

I guess all this to say: does anyone have any links to articles about the effects harvesting honey has on the bees/ environment, or any relevant searches I should be making on the topic? TIA
