Bytom aims to create an ecosystem through which digital and traditional assets can be registered and traded on a decentralized network with interoperability in mind. Its platform uses a three-layer structure in its system architecture: Application Layer, Contract Layer and Ledger Layer. The project states multiple innovations under its belt, including the adoption of a POW algorithm that is able to accommodate ASIC mining rigs and cross-chain transaction capability through side chains.
