SONM (SNM) is a decentralized, open-source fog computing platform that allows individuals to rent or lease computer resources. The resources are sourced from others with idle computer hardware that are willing to rent out such and earn from the same. Since it is a decentralized platform, it allows those who need computer resources to connect directly with those providing the resources, eliminating the middlemen that characterize the traditional cloud computing services. All services are paid for using the SNM token on the SONM network. SNM is an erc20 token compatible with wallets such as Jaxx. The token's ICO ended on June 2017, raising $26 million and its now listed on various exchanges including Binance, Kucoin, COSS, HitBTC, IDEX, YoBit and Tidex.

Any SNM holder with 100,000 SNM tokens or more can run a masternode, that can check and confirm transactions on the network.

SONm was developed by a team of experts led by Aleksei Antonov, who is the co-founder and has a degree in computer security and Sergei Ponomarev, who is also a co-founder and a blockchain expert. It is currently being maintained by more than 70 experienced experts in various fields.
