Ruff (RUFF) is an Ethereum based token complying with ERC-20 standards. Ruff ecosystem is focused on the high-efficiency Internet of Things applications. The ecosystem comprises a distributed operating system and a public blockchain for using in virtual business to business networks. Ruff is a node based system and each of IoT device will act as a node in the network. However, there are different kinds of nodes such as Ligh nodes (executors), Full nodes (records information), Representative nodes (arbiters) and Central nodes (Wallet). Ruff tokens are used for spending, incentives, trading and rewarding within the Ruff public chain. They can also be used for property or data exchange, Ruff chain based smart contract of Things, settle contract deployments and resource consumption.

Ruff was founded in 2014 by Roy Li a former Nokia OVI team lead. The team consists of investors such as Alex Goh (10 yeards of Hp & Dell experience), Dfund (a fund established by former Moji weather app), Wen Xin, Wu Gang, Bian Jiang, Huawei Kong and Richarg Wang.
