Data (DTA) is a coin on DATA Chain, a blockchain built on Tendermint Consensus Engine. This consensus engine is based on Byzantine Consensus Algorithm. The advantage of Tendermint consensus algorithm is that it is appropriate for scaling delegated proof of stake (DPoS) blockchains. Data chain was developed to address a few of the important problems in advertisement industry i.e. untraceable Ad fraud, complex middle layers, monetization, and user experience dilemma. Data chain provides the solution to these problems by using Ad flow (from advertisers to publishers and end users), Dataflow (from the user's device to P@P based mobile storage) and Toke Flow (from Data network to users, developers and Data nodes). The system supports micropayments where DTA coin can be used across the applications. The rewards are given based on Proof of Attention (PoA). The distribution is 10% for validator nodes, 20% to publishers and 70% to end user.

Data chain is founded and governed by Blockchain Data Foundation Limited Singapore. The project is running in the collaboration with Yomob International Co.Ltd which is a mobile monetization company. The team consists of Josh Burns who co-founded the 6waves US and managed and launched 100+ apps. There are a total of 22 members in the project. The advisory board consists of 6 members including Michael Arrington founder of TechCrunch.
